About 150 Mesaba employees moved to the new facility, which houses the airline's management and administrative staff, human resources, finance, accounting and IS departments, and its System Operations Control. Keewaydin Real Estate Advisors of Minneapolis provided site selection, lease negotiation, financial analysis and is currently providing project management services.
Mesaba spent $1.2 million to finish off a interior construction project, creating office space for its corporate headquarters at 1000 Blue Gentian Road. The company's previous headquarters was in the path of a new north-south runway being build at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Spectrum Commerce Center, developed and owned by the Spectrum Development Group, also include a hotel, restaurant, and parking for 1,900 cars. Spectrum Commerce Center has won awards for its use of recycled materials in construction of the 120,000 sf first phase of the three-phase project. Spectrum Development Group reused a 300,000 sf parking deck from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport that was scheduled for demolition to construct one of the area's most innovative real estate structures.
Eagan-based Spectrum Development Group specializes in property development involving desirable locations that require large parking facilities. Mesaba is a subsidiary company of Mesaba Holdings Inc. and a Northwest Airlink partner, already had its training center in the Spectrum Commerce Center.
