WASHINGTON, DC-Sunrise Senior Living Inc. has entered new territory with theopening of its first assisted-living facility within District limits. The seniorliving services provider built the seven-story structure from the ground up andleasing activity at the property has been substantial.

Situated at 5111 Connecticut Ave. at the intersection of Nebraska andConnecticut avenues, the new sunrise facility consists of 80,000 sf of space andenough residential units to accommodate as many as 100 residents. TheConnecticut Avenue community is the second property in the District to be operatedby Sunrise; the other property is Grand Oaks on the campus of Sibley MemorialHospital.
