LONDON-Milton Keynes Council has voted unanimously to grant planning permission for the biggest-ever Asda Wal-Mart Supercentre in the UK. The 150,000-sf store will help finance a new 30,000-seat stadium for the relocated Wimbledon soccer franchise, when it comes to the end of its two-year temporary residency at the city’s National Hockey Stadium.

In addition to the stadium, which will seat 30,000 for football and 35,000 for concerts, and the Asda Wal-Mart Supercentre, the development will include a 160,000-sf DIY store, A Media Village, including a hotel, offices and restaurant and two drive thru restaurants.
