Owners Ken Plunkett and Dan Peterson of St. Paul-based Grand Management recently were awarded an exclusive licensing agreement from Clear Channel, a media conglomerate that owns television and radio stations, to develop a network of bar/restaurant establishments across the country. KFAN the Restaurant, named after Clear Channel's Twin Cities sports/talk radio station, KFAN, is the first location to open under this agreement.

Plunkett and Peterson also own nine other Twin Cities area restaurants including Sidney's, Decoy's Grill & Bar, and Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub. Clear Channel is in the out-of-home advertising industry with more than 1,200 radio stations and 65 TV stations across the US, as well as outdoor displays and entertainment venues.

Grand Management says it has recently hired three managers to oversee the new venture: Mike Herstine as general manager, Jeffrey Vacanti as associate general manager and Donald Selmer as executive chef.
