Commission Acts on Three Northeast Projects

PORTLAND-The Portland Development Commission last week approved a development agreement for one project along Northeast Martin Luther King Boulevard and granted extensions to the developers of two other projects.The PDC approved an agreement with Fremont Partners for a $3.2-million commercial and residential project at 3510 NE MLK. The convenience store on the property will be demolished and replaced with an 11,000-sf office and retail building facing MLK and seven row houses facing Northeast Grand Avenue.

The renewal agency bought the site in 1999. Construction could begin in the summer. The PDC will assist in financing the commercial portion of the development; the townhouses will be privately financed.
