Developer Eyes 42-Acre Parcel for Senior Community

HUDSON, MA-Southborough Ventures proposes developing a 180-unit senior housing community on a vacant 42-acre parcel off Technology Drive and Wheeler Road. The town's first over-55 project, is currently under construction.

HUDSON, MA-A vacant 42-acre parcel off Technology Drive and Wheeler Road could be home to the town’s second senior housing community if Southborough Ventures’ proposal for the site is approved. The development company wants to build a 180-unit condominium project for seniors 55 and up on the property, which is a former apple orchard. Southborough Ventures’ Tom McCarthy has started the site plan review process, according to the town clerk, and will also need a special permit to move forward.

The property is currently industrially zoned, but town meeting approved the creation of an overlay district for the area that would allow the project to be built at this location. The town clerk emphasizes that the vote was overwhelmingly favorable to the rezoning, suggesting that the town wants to see this type of project get built here.
