Raytheon Establishes Missile Defense Center with 438,000-SF Lease

WOBURN, MA-In a deal that is one of the largest in suburban Boston's recent history, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems leases 438,000 sf at 225 and 235 Presidential Way.

WOBURN, MA-Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is establishing a new facility at the MetroNorth Corporate Center. The company is leasing 438,000 sf in two buildings at 225 and 235 Presidential Way in a deal that is one of the largest in suburban Boston’s recent history.

The new facilities will serve as Raytheon’s Missile Defense Center and the company will begin occupying the facilities in March 2004. Approximately 1,100 engineers and administrative personnel will move into the facility over the next year from an existing Raytheon facility in Bedford. The two buildings in Woburn, which are owned by National Development, were originally developed for Genuity Inc. nearly three years ago, but the company went under shortly after moving in.

Steve Brecken, spokesperson for Raytheon, tells GlobeSt.com that National Development is buying Raytheon’s nearly 400,000-sf Bedford facility for further development. Raytheon, headquartered in Tewksbury, focuses on mission systems integration.
