In her former role as president of BOMA San Diego from 2000 to 2002, Thompson led the organization on issues such as defibrillator liability protection, the reduction of energy consumption, and the organization of high-rise evacuation drills. During her tenure, BOMA San Diego won the 2000 BOMA International Government Affairs Program of the Year and the 2002 State of California Flex Your Power Energy Conservation Award.

A consummate real estate professional, Thompson serves as general manager of PM Realty Group. In this capacity, she directs all property management and leasing efforts for the company's 227,570-sf La Jolla Executive Tower in University Tower.

Thompson's other endeavors include serving on the board of directors for BOMA San Diego, Lincoln Club of San Diego and the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce. She is also the former president of Commercial Real Estate Women and a member of the University City Planning Group.
