MIAMI-Construction has begun on Emerald at Brickell, a 27-story upscale high-rise condominium project in Miami, FL. The waterfront project is located at 218 S.E. 14 St., just off Brickell Bay Drive in the city's financial district. The emerald-glass tower is being developed by SunVest/Hamilton, a joint venture between SunVest Resort Communities and Hamilton Investment Group LLC.

At press time, the project, which will have 142 homes and penthouses, was 70% sold. The project is scheduled to be completed in late 2005. The one-, two- and three-bedroom residences and penthouses are priced between $275,000 and more than $1 million.

Amenities will include the Sky Club on the 27th floor, which overlooks the bay and city skyline. A spa and Italian café are also included. Fullerton-Diaz is the tower's designer.

“The start of construction will undoubtedly excite current buyers and fuel sales further,” developer Louis Birdman of SunVest/Hamilton said in a statement.
