DETROIT-There will be plenty of opportunities to look ahead to 2004 in January. Several organizations have scheduled economic forecast events for the first month of the new year.

Jim Sansoterra, SVP of Comerica bank will offer his views on the economic drivers influencing tomorrow’s business climate at CoreNet Global’s annual forecast luncheon, Jan. 8 at the Deaborn Inn in Dearborn. CoreNet Global, an organization of corporate real estate professionals, will be joined by the Michigan chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, Corporate Real Estate Women, International Facilities Management Association, and the Building Owners and Managers Association in hosting the luncheon.

The Michigan Society of Industrial and Office Realtors 13th annual trends and forecast luncheon will be Jan. 16 at the Morriott Pontiac at Centerpoint in Pontiac. On the agenda will be a presentation by David Gilter from Grubb & Ellis and Steve Morris from GVA Strategis, who will offer statistics and trends on the local industrial and office real estate markets; Don Miller, chief real estate officer at Wells Real Estate Funds, will speak on “Investment in Commercial Real Estate from the Perspective of Today Real Estate Investment Trust”; and Luis Belmonte, EVP of AMB Property Corp., who will speak on “The National Commercial Real Estate Landscape … According to Belmonte.”
