Stryker Has $61M Plan for Portage

PORTAGE, MI-Medical-equipment maker Stryker Corp. plans to expand an existing plant in Portage by 200,000 sf and build a new 400,000-sf facility there. The total investment has been estimated at roughly $61 million.

PORTAGE, MI-Stryker Corp. says it will invest $61 million in expanding its MedSurg production facility in Portage.An additional 200,000-sf manufacturing facility will be constructed on the current 44-acre Stryker Instruments site and renovations will be made to Stryker’s existing 250,000-sf facility. The total investment for Stryker Instruments will be $29 million.

Stryker Instruments, located at 4100 East Milham Avenue, Portage, manufactures large- and small-bone powered surgical instruments and other high-technology medical devices principally used in orthopaedic surgery.

A new $32 million 400,000 sf manufacturing facility for Stryker Medical will be constructed on 80 acres located at the southwest corner of Centre Street and Sprinkle Road, also in Portage.
