Mortgage Company Crafts Six-Year Lease

HOUSTON-First Continental Mortgage will open doors in February on 14,544 sf of class A space at 2929 Briarpark Dr. in a street-level office that will put the team on one floor instead of four. The move ends a 10-year run along Town & Country Drive.

HOUSTON-First Continental Mortgage will move at the end of February into a 14,544-sf office at 2929 Briarpark Dr., signing a six-year lease that will put the team on one floor. The home office now occupies 9,500 sf on four floors at 1497 Town & Country Dr.

Ron Smulcer, chief of operations for First Continental Mortgage, tells GlobeSt.com that the Town & Country address, where it’s spent the last decade, can’t accommodate the firm’s growth. The Westchase building offered the chance to get the staff on one floor. The tenant’s representative, Tommy Alexander, first vice president in the Houston office of CB Richard Ellis Inc., says the other selling point is that street-level office in the 148,000-sf, six-story structure was sitting in slab condition and able to be customized for the mortgage company.
