Levitt Corp. Begins Trading on NYSE

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Levitt Corp.’s class A common stock began trading Jan. 2 on the New York Stock Exchange. “Listing on the ‘Big Board’ and trading on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on the first trading day of the new year is a fitting way to launch the 75th anniversary of Levitt’s homebuilding subsidiary,” Alan B. Levan, the company’s chairman and CEO, says in a statement.

Levitt Corp., locally based BankAtlantic Bancorp Inc.’s former real estate development subsidiary, separated from the company in a tax-free spin-off and became its own publicly traded company. Levitt Corp. is the parent company of Levitt Commercial, Levitt and Sons, and Core Communities. Levitt Commercial focuses on development, re-development and joint-venture opportunities with industrial and retail properties. Levitt and Sons develops single-family and multifamily homes for active adults and families in Florida. Core Communities develops master-planned communities in Florida.
