Doyle Toups and Ace Schlameus, both with the local office of Grubb & Ellis Co., represented the building owner, Accrued Investments, a local private investor. Schlameus tells GlobeSt.com that the lease has kicked in although the space build-out won't be ready to occupy until early May.
Schlameus says Sunbelt Rentals is testing the retail concept by retooling the building with curb appeal for walk-in trade as well as contractors. The building will have an 1,800-sf office plus a large showroom. Sunbelt also has a rental site at 10620 Needham St., about 2.5 miles away from Oates Road.
Brad Murr with Harris Murr & Vermillion LLC in Charlotte represented the tenant in the negotiations for a space emptied about six months ago by Texas Timberjack. The final price fell close to the asking rate of 80 cents per sf, Schlameus says.
