Equipment Supplier Tries Out Retail Plan

HOUSTON-Sunbelt Rentals Inc. will test the concept in a 9,900-sf industrial building being outfitted with showroom space for the general public as well as contractors. The lease has kicked in although build-out won't be done until early May.

HOUSTON-Sunbelt Rentals Inc., a Charlotte, NC-based industrial equipment rental firm, has just signed a long-term lease for a 9,900-sf industrial building at 700 Oates Rd. to test a retail concept in East Houston.

Doyle Toups and Ace Schlameus, both with the local office of Grubb & Ellis Co., represented the building owner, Accrued Investments, a local private investor. Schlameus tells GlobeSt.com that the lease has kicked in although the space build-out won’t be ready to occupy until early May.
