In his letter of resignation, McKinnon explains that, "Nomura compliance requirements as well as the fact that I may seek to engage in business activities with Criimi in the future dictate that I must resign from my position on the Board." MacKinnon, who began his term as a director at Criimi Mae in 2001, had also been serving as CEO of real estate software technology firm REALM. His term as a director was scheduled to expire this year.
