A strategic location makes the structure at 16500 Hunters Green Parkway a natural choice for the Home Depot, which will utilize the facility for the housing and distribution of its bathroom and kitchen faucet, fixture, and decorative door hardware products. Situated on a 70-acre parcel at the intersection of I-70 and I-81 in Washington County, the five-year-old warehouse building is at the center of a crucial product distribution passageway that is within three hours from such key destinations as Baltimore, Philadelphia, Richmond, VA, and Washington, DC.

"The distribution center in Hagerstown will enable the Home Depot to provide faster, more efficient service to our customers in the Northeast," Kent Knutson, vice president of the Home Depot Government Relations, says." The building also features 5,000 sf of office space, 13,000 sf of shipping and operations space, and parking to accommodate more than 300 vehicles.

TruServ Corp.'s True Value Distribution Center had occupied the building under a lease-and-buy agreement for just three years before it made its exit and put the property on the market in late 2002. New Boston Fund then snapped up 16500 Hunters Green in a $26.5 million deal. The real estate company is now in the process of expanding the warehouse facility to 1.2 million sf. For the Home Depot, the new locale represents the company's third distribution center in the state.
