The hospital says the new building on Lapeer Road will house seven family physicians and several other specialists, with the hospital providing a variety of radiology services such as CT scanning, ultrasound, X-rays, physical therapy and lab services.
The site on Lapeer Road, north of Casemer Road, is being excavated and the facility is expected to be open by November 2004. Pine Tree Lighting, a business on the property, will be torn down this spring to make room for the building. Pine Tree Lighting will expand and move into a facility just north of the site on April 1, 2004.
Beaumont Hospitals also is working on a medical office building and ambulatory care center in Shelby Township that will open in 2005.
