BONITA SPRINGS, FL-WCI Communities, Inc., a publicly traded, locally based builder of highly-amenitized lifestyle communities, experienced a 152% hike in fourth quarter orders. Meanwhile, George Page, WCI’s senior vice president of the tower division, plans to retire in February.

Orders jumped to a single-quarter record $456.5 million, up from $180.9 million during the same period the year before. Fourth-quarter unit orders were 668, a 81% increase compared with the 369 units obtained in that quarter the year before. Orders that quarter had significant increases in both the tower and traditional homebuilding divisions. Tower homebuilding orders were up 186% to $268.6 million.

For 2003, orders increased 49% to a record $1.5 billion. During that time, the tower division saw 66% growth in new orders to $728 million.
