The building was built in 1954 and used for many years as a mixed-use facility. TrizecHahn Corp. acquired the building in 1997 and proceeded to redevelop it as a telco hotel. When TrizecHahn was restructured in 2002, with the launch of Trizec Properties as a U.S.-based public REIT focused on office properties, ownership was transferred to the new company.

In addition to the disposition of non-office properties, Trizec during the past year has exited several non-core markets and submarkets where it had owned single office property assets, including Detroit, Memphis, West Palm Beach and the Los Angeles Airport submarket. In addition, Trizec sold two retail & entertainment centers in 2003 -- Paseo Colorado in Pasadena, CA, and Desert Passage in Las Vegas. Trizec now has ownership interests in and manages 64 office properties totaling approximately 43 million sf concentrated in the metropolitan areas of seven major U.S. cities.
