Johnson Controls to Sell Salem Township Site

SALEM TOWNSHIP, MI-Johnson Controls says it will sell the Salem Township site where it had intended to build a new $160 million headquarters.

SALEM TOWNSHIP, MI-Tight times in the automotive supply business has helped to scrap plans for a new automotive headquarters in Washtenaw County’s Salem Township.

Tier 1 supplier Johnson Controls says it has shelved plans to build a new $160 million automotive headquarters in the township, largely due to cost concerns and to apprehension about delays in the project.

The 360-acre site along Joy and Napier roads, which the company bought more than two years ago, is being put up for sale.
