Both firms say an alliance will enable them to reinforce the firms' strengths and expand their markets. "PGAL offers national presence and stature, and a strong residential architectural production team," according to Jaime Schapiro, principal of Schapiro Associates, which specializes in multifamily housing. The 56-year-old PGAL has 240 employees and has worked on notable civic, aviation, justice and educational projects nationwide.
"Jaime is recognized for his knowledge of architecture in multifamily development, and since we are currently broadening our residential base, we will jointly pursue marketing opportunities in Florida as well as national opportunities with Florida developers," says Ian Nestler, AIA principal with PGAL. "We are confident that this makes for a solid marriage."
Schapiro Associates offers a full range of architectural services, which include master planning, and urban and interior design for all development industry sectors. Among the firm's current projects: Terrazas de Miami, the Atrium at Aventura, and the Setai Resorts and Residences.
