Pure Detroit will open a 1,200-sf store in the center, which also serves as the world headquarters of the world's largest automaker. Taubman Centers manages three floors of retail, restaurants and others services at the six-tower complex now under contract with GM.

The new store will be open this spring and will be located in the GM Wintergarden on Level 1. Pure Detroit joins the recently announced Andiamo Riverfront restaurant in the GM Wintergarden.

Pure Detroit, which opened its first store in 1998, has become known for its progressive line of Pure Detroit brand apparel. The new location will also feature GM branded clothing and accessories. Some featured products will include lamps and clocks made from remnant GM auto parts, belts made from GM vehicle seatbelts and handbags fashioned from vintage GM auto upholstery.

"GM has done an excellent job re-visioning the Renaissance Center and the nearby riverfront," says Kevin Borsay, VP of Pure Detroit. "We applaud their commitment and are excited that Pure Detroit will be part of it."

With the addition of Pure Detroit, Riverfront Shops will offer 70 stores, restaurants and services in the GM Renaissance Center, Millender Center and River East Center.
