Located on a 20-acre spot of land, Eastgate Gardens will reemerge from its massive makeover as a 269-unit residential property consisting of 161 public-housing apartments for rent and 108 residences for sale in the form of townhomes, duplexes, and single-family homes. The project is expected to attract investment for further redevelopment efforts in the neighborhood. "Marshall Heights is on the verge of being a great community, and approval of the Eastgate application will give the community the push it needs," says Michael Kelly, DCHA executive director.
