Kleier began his career as a commercial real estate appraiser. He joined NBS in 1989. As a member of the company's Capital Asset Group, he specializes in the disposition and acquisition of multifamily and investment properties. Kleier has been one of the company's largest producers numerous times during recent years. He was promoted to associate vice president in 1995.

"Given his brokerage talent and industry leadership, (Kleier) was an obvious choice to become a fellow partner …," adds company president J. Clayton Hering. "His skills will augment both the multifamily group and Vancouver office. "(The company) looks forward to extending (its) client services in these areas; Charlie's ownership role will help … realize these goals."

NBS has been expanding its multifamily group during recent months and plans to continue this trend during coming years. "It is imperative that NB&S continues adding fresh talent to its roster as we did during 2003," says Kleier. "In light of Southwest Washington's rapid growth, we plan to enhance our services on both sides of the river."

Kleier is the second broker in the firm's Vancouver office to become partner. The other is Roger Qualman, who has been a partner since 1993 and has managed the Vancouver office for three years. The other partners in the company are Hering, Joseph F. Wood, Jan Robertson and Chris Johnson.
