Roddy McAlpine and Bob Parsley, both with Colliers International in Houston, represented the seller, the CH Wilkinson Physician Network of Houston. The land in the 2600 block of West Lake Houston Parkway is the back portion of an 11-acre tract up for sale at $4 per sf. He says the property, on the market a couple years, generated a lot of activity before going under contract to the city.
Mark Ross, deputy director for the Houston Parks Department, tells GlobeSt.com that the plan is to hold community meetings in summer 2005 about the project. Then, six months to a year will be spent in design and securing the contracts while another year will be required before it can deliver. He says the facility will be about 6,000 sf, the first for Kingwood in Houston's 57-center network. Richard Glover in the city's real estate division for the public works department negotiated the land purchase.
