The 3,400-seat arena will be designed to serve Hope's basketball and volleyball teams. The DeVos Fieldhouse will be constructed in a park-like setting. It's named after Richard and Helen DeVos, whose foundation made an initial $7.5 million donation for the fieldhouse project in 2001.
The Martha Miller Center for Global Communication is also is set for construction in the spring. The building is named in honor of a woman whose estate made a $3 million gift to the college in 1999.
