GlobeSt.com EXCLUSIVE: GIA Takes 17,715 SF for Classroom Space

NEW YORK CITY-Finding space in the Diamond District that would allow for column-free classroom space and heavy traffic was the task appointed to CB Richard Ellis’ Kevin Danehy and David Kleinhandler by the Gemological Institute of America. The non-profit organization that acts as an impartial authority on gemological issues, wanted to secure space to expand its educational offerings.

After a year or so of searching and a few deals that fell through along the way, GIA signed on for 17,715 sf at 270 Madison Ave. The organization will maintain its headquarters space at 580 Fifth Ave. Terms of the 10-year lease were not revealed.
