Property owner CarrAmerica developed 1201 F St. on a prime corner in the middle of the city's East End area in 2000. Shortly after the building's completion, HIAA signed on for space at $37.50 per sf. These days, asking rents for non-sublet class A space in DC's East End market average out at $43.50 per sf, according to Advantis Real Estate Services' recent monthly update to its District of Columbia Office Survey. The area's vacancy rate, with sublet space included, is about 8.8%. Other tenants at 1201 F St. include law firm Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP, consulting firm Charles River Associates, and the National Federation of Independent Business.
