"We were too cramped in the old place so we had to add on," says center director Stanley Grot, who also once owned the popular Polonia Restaurant in Hamtramck. "Before, we could only provide our facility for one party at a time."
The center, which is located on 15 Mile Road at Dequindre in Troy, spent $1.8 million on its addition, which can accommodate groups from 50 to 1,050 people. Grot says the new facility has the capacity to conduct four functions at any one time. He went on to explain that the center has 1,050 members and also provides a meeting place for 32 other organizations.
Finally, Grot says, "the purpose of the APCC is to promote American Polish culture—our heritage—and provide a place for Polish people to meet."
