This year's list includes 23 individuals and seven teams. Ranked among the individuals are Jonathan Schein, president and CEO of Real Estate Media, GlobeSt.com's parent organization. Other individuals include David Frosh, president of Sperry Van Ness; Stan Gale, founder of the Gale Co.; Mark Rose, chief operating officer, Americas at Jones Lang LaSalle; Scott Morey, chief information officer at Equity Office; and Richard Peltz, chief information officer, Marcus & Millichap.

Listed among the teams are Niraj Patel, chief information officer, and Tom Gimpel, chief software architect, of GMAC Commercial Mortgage; George Bouris, practice leader corporate real estate, and Wade Fransson, solutions manager, corporate real estate, of Deloitte Consulting; Jeffrey Finn, president, and Finn Johnson, chief information officer, of New America International; and David Stanford and Chris Shaida, both founding partners, Real Foundations.

Realcomm accepted nominations for consideration on the annual list and an ad-hoc committee selected the 30 finalists--bumped up from 25 in 2003--based on a "21st century vision, persistence, patience and willingness to fail." says Young. In addition, the firm looked at four specific categories that have been affected by technology and automation. The categories, which span all industry sectors, are: an enhanced tenant experience; an automated building; a paperless transaction; and efficient, flexible, sustainable, reusable design.
