Located on East 33rd St., Ednor will feature independent-living housing consisting of affordable apartments designated for low- and moderate-income senior residents. The four-story property will also include ground-level office spaces, a hair salon, a library, and a community room. Harkins Builders is onboard as the project's contractor, and , Habitat America will serve as property manager upon the structure's scheduled December 2004 completion.

For $50 million, an entire senior-centered mini-community--Stadium Place--is being built on the 30-acre site that was originally developed as a home for the Baltimore Colts a half-century ago. Now, in addition to Ednor, another senior residence called the Venable Apartments, a state-of-the-art YMCA outlet and commercial space are taking over the parcel where the stadium once stood.

"Stadium Place is a new vision for Baltimore's seniors--an attractive mixed-income campus providing apartments, home ownership and assisted living facilities with no entrance fee," Govans officials say of the new retirement community. "Residents' changing needs will be met with a range of health, wellness and personal services. There will be subsidized housing and services for those in need.
