Real Estate One, founded in Detroit 75 years ago, was at 29630 Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills for 30 years. The company now leases 40,000 sf in the Maccabees Center, 25800 Northwestern Highway, in Southfield. The firm sold its former 15,000-sf headquarters building to competitor RE/MAX.
Real Estate One has 1,800 agents and recorded $3.4 billion in sales in 2003. The company also owns John Adams Mortgage Co., Capital Title Insurance, Insurance One, Home Services One, Relocation America, Max Broock Realtors and Johnstone & Johnstone Realtors. Max Broock will remain headquartered in Bloomfield Hills and Johnstone and Johnstone will stay in Grosse Pointe Farms, while the other companies have moved from locations in West Bloomfield, Farmington and Southfield. Real Estate One's Realtor training center, Real Estate One Academy, also will be housed in the Maccabees building.
