Swortwood is now the director of commercial development, while Weld is director of commercial property management and Hill is vice president of leasing. All three positions have been newly created, a company spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com.

With more than a decade under his belt at the locally based firm, Swortwood has been a "key part of HG Fenton Co.'s commercial management, development and acquisitions team for the past 12 years," according to a company statement. In his new role, he will now direct both the acquisition and development of commercial product for the firm. He will be especially focused on expanding HG Fenton's build-to-suit and speculative development program, which includes Fenton Technology Park and Mission Valley Heights.

Meanwhile, Weld will lead all tenant relations and management activities for HG Fenton's commercial real estate portfolio in her role as director of commercial property management. For the past year, Weld had been serving as team director for the firm's commercial property management group.

After playing a key role in the successful leasing of Mission Valley Heights, Hill is now acting as vice president of leasing for the firm. In this capacity, his duties include heading up marketing efforts for the firm's existing 2.9-million-sf industrial portfolio, as well as new development projects.

Founded in 1906, HG Fenton is one of the oldest firms in San Diego that is locally owned. Mission Valley Heights and Fenton Technology Park are two of the firm's highest-profile assets. Mission Valley Heights is a one-million-sf, master-planned business park that HG Fenton completed last year, while Fenton Technology Park is a master-planned business park that is still in the process of development. The project will ultimately offer nearly one million sf of industrial, office and technology space. Aside from its industrial portfolio, HG Fenton also owns developable land and multifamily communities. It currently owns and manages eight apartment communities totaling 2,119 units and is developing the 396-unit Portofino complex in Mission Valley.
