NEWTON, MA-In a deal that is indicative of the current market in which tenants are racing to renew their leases and take advantage of the current lower rates, Vacovec, Mayette & Singer LLP lease 7,975 sf at Two Newton Place.

NEWTON, MA-Vacovec, Mayette & Singer, LLP are leasing 7,975 sf at Two Newton Place. The law firm, which specializes in tax law, is renewing its existing lease. Meredith & Grew, Inc. vice presidents John E. Butterworth and John A. Carroll III represented the tenant in the transaction, while CB Richard Ellis’s Drew Nelson represented property owner, Boston Capital Investment Advisors.

The building, which is located at 255 Washington St., is leased to a variety of tenants including Achievement Technologies and Med Tac. The deal is indicative of the current market in which tenants are racing to renew their leases and take advantage of the current lower rates. Lease rates for this deal were not available, but the average asking rent for office space in the area is about $25 per sf.
