The new drug store is slated to open at the 495 Broadway site by the summer. The 80,000-sf building is located between Spring and Broome streets in the city's SoHo neighborhood. The asking rent was $100 per sf.

Robert K. Futterman, CEO, Scott Edlitz, managing director, and Richard Gelber, associate director, of Robert K. Futterman & Associates LLC represented Textport in the transaction. Esther Bukai of RIPCO Real Estate Corp. represented Eckerd.

"Eckerd chose 495 Broadway for its newest location in Manhattan to take advantage of the high-traffic SoHo district," Edlitz says. "The store will also be able to draw customers brought to the area by the new Bloomingdale's that will open across the street from the location."

Eckerd is a subsidiary of JCPenney Co. Inc and is headquartered in Clearwater, FL. It has approximately 2,700 drug stores in 21 states.
