The historic 90-year-old restaurant, and the adjacent Flame Bar, will remain open for business until the start of construction, and then will be demolished. The construction, pending purchase completion, design and city approvals, is slated for late this year or early spring of 2005. Lanny Kurysh of Coldwell Banker Burnet brokered the agreement.
Founded in 1914 when White Bear Lake was a resort and tourist location, the Piccadilly Supper Club has became a well known entertainment spot. St. Paul-based MetroPlains Development has developed such properties as Village By the Bay in Mound, a 99-unit condominium and townhouse project, and Glen Dawn Townhomes in St. Paul, a city housing redevelopment initiative.
