The re-urbanization project is located on the former Williamson Cadillac property across the street from Dadeland Mall. The 7.5-acre project will include 416 condominiums and 125,000 sf of retail space within seven clustered, low-rise buildings. Downtown Dadeland, which will offer an urban environment where residents can live, play and shop, has a planned completion date of spring 2005. More than 85% of the residences were sold and national tenants, such as Chili's, Pier 1 and Cargo, along with several local retailers will be making Downtown Dadeland their home.

"Miller & Solomon has a proven track record for on-time, on-budget delivery of their projects," according to Stefan Johansson and Jackson Ward, co-principals of Gulfside Development. "We were also impressed with their depth of experience with projects that have become symbols for the community."

Founded in 1954, Miller & Solomon General Contractors has built Miami Beach's landmark China Grill restaurant and Portofino Group building; the Floridian Apartments on Miami Beach; Grove Hill Condominiums in Coconut Grove, the Grand Bay residences on Key Biscayne; the library and Technology Research Center at Nova Southeastern University; upgrades to the Miami Dolphins training facility; and Mizner Grand I & II. The firm also recently formed a joint venture with RBG Urban, to develop the Sapphire, a $20-million, 14-story, mixed-use development in the city.
