Demand Fuels Condo Conversion

AVENTURA, FL-Due to demand for condominium units in the area, Turnberry Associates has converted its year-old $80-million rental tower Turnberry on the Green into condos. The 27-story, 377-residence tower opened as a rental project a year ago at 19501 W. Country Club Dr., across from the Aventura Mall. The high-rise overlooks the Turnberry Isle Resort & Club Golf Course.

The decision was made due to overwhelming demand from prospective buyers and area market conditions, according to Bruce Weiner, president of Turnberry Associates’ Residential Division. “With interest rates continuing at low levels and a shortage of high-rise residences for sale in Aventura, we felt Turnberry on the Green would be most successful as a condominium community,” says Weiner, who adds that the company has received a lot of interest from current residents.
