But Eibensteiner said he simply does not have the time required to adequately represent his district on the Council. Eibensteiner is founder and president of Royal Oaks Realty, Royal Excavating, Imperial Homes Inc. and a number of other real estate and development firms.

Eibensteiner has served as the representative from Council District 10. The district includes Arden Hills, Blaine, Circle Pines, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Lexington, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville and Shoreview.

The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the seven-county Twin Cities metro area. The vacancy will be filled by the governor, who appoints all Council members.
