"Our expansion into Boston is an important part of our continuing efforts to grow our real estate business and increase our contributions to Wachovia," says Mike Slocum, head of Wachovia's Real Estate Financial Services.
Peter V. Chow, formerly senior team leader of Fleet's commercial real estate team, will head the office. Michael J. Sleece, formerly senior relationship manager for Fleet, and Joshua R. Howes, formerly a portfolio manager at Fleet, are joining the office as well. Richard Lyon, Northeast regional executive for Wachovia's Real Estate Financial Services Group emphasizes that the move demonstrates the firm's commitment to having a significant presence in Boston. Wachovia Corp. has assets of $389 billion and stockholders' equity of $33 billion.
