Joe Pesaturo, a spokesperson for the MBTA, tells GlobeSt.com that the air rights at the Belmont station are one of the first being developed as part of the initiative. He says that the MBTA is cooperating with the town and is writing the RFP with officials from Belmont. "The proposal is what the town desires and what the developer is willing to do," he says.

According to Pesaturo, the town is looking for a mixed-use development on the site which will consist of ground floor retail space and residential units on the floors above. He adds that the height of the building is still under discussion.
