Andrew W. Sowell with the Houston office of Boyd Commercial represented Xinghua, a manufacturer of equipment for assembly production of fortune cookies. Sowell tells GlobeSt.com that Xinghua was operating out of borrowed space and wanted its own facility. He says the search was into the third week when they placed the offer for the Hodges Street building, which already had one contract fall out. It was the right location and right size, Sowell says of the decision to buy with financing arranged by Melinda Huang at the Bellaire office of Metro Bank. Mike Bennett of Bennett Properties of Houston represented the seller.
