Non-Casino Hotel on The Strip Set for '06 Opening

LAS VEGAS-Majestic Resorts Inc. has selected Hilton’s Brussels-based luxury brand Conrad Hotels to operate and manage a 378-unit non-casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip that is scheduled to break ground late this year and open to guests in 2006.

To make room for the hotel, the locally based developer recently demolished La Concha Motel, a 1960′s-era landmark hotel that has been featured in movies and hosted Muhammad Ali, Ronald Reagan and other celebrities over the years. The property is located just south of the Riviera, across the Strip from the Stardust.

The development will include a Conrad-branded hotel, the Majestic Resort and Residences, and an upscale dining, shopping and entertainment complex. The hotel and residences will be located in what Hilton and Majestic are touting as two of the tallest buildings in Las Vegas. Taking advantage of its proximity to the Las Vegas Convention Center, amenities will include a business center and offices, 13 meeting and boardroom facilities and two ballrooms, as well as a spa, fitness center and Olympic-sized outdoor swimming pool.
