Doug Lockwood, a 10-year professional, earned the new role for the multi-housing investment group while Bob Bantley assumed the title as an office tenant representative. Lockwood joined Grubb & Ellis in 2001 after spending five years as an independent and previously working for Eton Properties in Houston. Bantley joined the firm in 1998 after working as a management consultant.

Lockwood was one of the firm's Top 10 producers in 2003, selling more than 1,000 units with a transactional volume pushing $30 million. Lockwood tells GlobeSt.com that the region's "pent-up demand coupled with the compressed investment yields created by low-interest rates makes it a great time to bring apartment assets to the market." And, he credits Houston's managing director, Randy Moore, with providing "the leadership, resources and technical support necessary to achieve remarkable results in my specialty.
