Continuing Care Projects Open

CARLSBAD, CA-Continuing Life Communities' new Carlsbad projects, Glenview Assisted Living and GlenBrook Skilled Nursing, have celebrated their grand openings. Housed in the same health care center, the projects will provide residents with a range of services, including full-service rehabilitation and mental stimulation programs.

CARLSBAD, CA-Two new projects developed by Continuing Life Communities CHC LLC have officially opened their doors for business in the city. Housed in the same health-care center, the projects have provided the city with 76 assisted living units and a 70-bed skilled nursing center.

GlenView, which is located in a two-story wing of the health-care center, is comprised of 58 assisted living units and a special secured dementia care facility with capacity for 18 units. Known as the Gardens, the dementia care unit provides services geared toward memory support, physical activity, socialization and mental stimulation. Fees here begin at $3,850 a month, with all services included, according to Maralyn Schmiedeke, the director of assisted living. This facility is housed on the first floor of GlenView, while the 58 assisted living units are located throughout the remainder of the wing. The assisted living units range in design from studios to one- or two-bedroom floorplans, with fees starting at $3,600 a month. They feature kitchenettes, emergency call systems and independent climate controls. These units have been tailored to the needs of seniors who require some help with activities such as bathing, dressing and medication management.

GlenBrook, meanwhile, provides accommodation for seniors in need of the more intensive services of a skilled nursing facility. Located in a one-story wing of the health-care center, GlenBrook features long-term nursing care services, a full-service therapy and rehabilitation department, and a dementia care section. Fees here begin at $192 per day for a semi-private room and $245 per day for a private room.
