Morningside Plans $22M Royal Oak Loft Condos

ROYAL OAK, MI-Morningside Group plans another project for Royal Oak, its third in that city in recent years.

ROYAL OAK, MI-The Detroit arm of Midwest developer Morningside Group says it will build 88 loft condominiums in a new building project in Royal Oak. The new condo project is valued at more than $22 million and will be built at the site of the Select Inn Motel on 11 Mile Road. Morningside says the lofts will range from 900 to 2,500 sf, with prices in the mid $200s up to the mid $600s.

Morningside has been an active player in Royal Oak in recent years. The company is currently completing the construction of its SkyLoftsRoyalOak development at Fourth and Main Streets. In 2003, it completed Main Place of Royal Oak, a two-story retail building anchored by a Barnes & Noble bookstore and located across the street from SkyLofts. Based in Chicago, Morningside operates a Detroit regional office in downtown Royal Oak.
