Capella says it will be the largest tenant in the 53-story 225 South Sixth, the largest building in Downtown in terms of square footage. The lease also includes an option for an additional 70,000 sf of expansion space.

Hines, the Dallas-based real estate development, investment, and management company, is the owner, property manager and leasing agent for 225 South Sixth. Hines is one of the largest privately held commercial real estate companies in the world. The local office of Cresa Partners, led by Jim Vos, the firm's principal, was Capella's consultant on the new lease.

Capella's local headquarters include administrative offices for admissions, learner services, financial aid, registrar, and the executive directors of its five schools in business, technology, education, human services and psychology. Capella Education Co., the parent company Capella University, has been on the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in America for the five year in a row, and is one of the largest privately held companies in Minnesota.
