College to Build $4M Annex in Clinton Township

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI-Baker College says it will build an annex to its township campus as it struggles to keep up with growing demand for its services.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI-Baker College in Clinton Township says it will build a $3.5-million annex less than a mile from its existing campus. The news came about than Baker had expected, says college president Don Torline.

“We have been averaging 24% enrollment growth every year for the past seven years,” Don Torline, president of Baker College of Clinton Township, tells GlobeSt.com. “This year, we had a 17% enrollment growth and the limiting factor was classroom space. Every single space here is full.”

Baker College now has about 4,500 students in its various career education programs at its campus on 15 Mile Road and Little Mack. By this September, it will open a new classroom annex building just off Gratiot of Quinn Road, a short drive from the existing campus.
