GRAND RAPIDS, MI-A developer of the Celebration Village entertainment complex has asked Grand Rapids planning commissioners to rescind action taken at their last meeting, saying it could worsen traffic congestion at a busy section of the development. An attorney for developer Jim Reminga requested a hearing on a request by movie magnate John Loeks for an additional parking lot at his Celebration Cinema movie theater.

Loeks also wants permission to build a 95,000 sf office building on 10 acres north of Celebration Village and wants a road that would connect Celebration Village with the 10 acres to the north. If approved, Reminga fears the connector road would dump extra traffic into Celebration Village and endanger the millions of dollars he and partners invested there.
